About the event

This workshop is part of the Albert/Eden and Puketāpapa Eco Festival March 1 - 31st.

Songwriters 4 Climate Action is a project intended to bring together community-based performers through a series of workshops and activities; to help support and inspire them to develop songs and artwork that highlight the challenges and hopes for climate action. Our aim is to work towards live performances and record songs / creative content (to a professional standard) that we can share on multiple platforms to help spread awareness and positivity around this kaupapa. Through this process we hope to build a supportive arts community and learn a thing or two along the way.

Holding Space will be hosting their 16th workshop with special guests: Aro.

Exploring Songwriting, Te Ao Māori Principles; connecting to our whenua through language and song.

Music Duo - Aro consists of husband and wife Charles (Ngāpuhi, Te Rarawa, Ngāti Te Ata, Te Ati Awa) and Emily Looker. The pair share a passion for the power of language and music to tell stories and remind us of our cultural identity. We look forward to finding out about their journey with Te Reo and talking about some of the amazing musical projects they have created inspired by our native birds, waters and for tamariki.

Register for free. Just let us know you're interested so we get an idea of numbers.
