Join Holding Space and the Songwriters 4 Climate Action Project with guest speaker: Jean Yern as we explore how to write a pepeha. A pepeha is an introduction of ourselves in te reo Māori and incorporates our ancestry and history; sharing our connections with the people and places that are important to us. We will also discuss the power of knowing one's ancestors and how that can affect our perspectives and feed into our songwriting.

With Special Guest / Workshop Host. Jean Yern (Tainui, Waikato, Ngāti Tamaoho) has been a teacher of music, Māori arts and culture for many years. She is currently based in Mangatangi raising her young family and has a background in Jazz; drumming for bands such as Trinity Roots, Olmecha Supreme, Charlie Ash and on TV commercials.
