About the event

Calling all Songwriters, Poets, Activists, Movers and Shakers. Let’s get together and use our voices and talents for positive change and inspiration.

This workshop is a brainstorming session where we can share ideas and help craft chants, short phrases and calls to action to help rally our communities and support protesters on the front line of our current climate and social movements.

Join us at The Flagship, Wynyard Quarter.

This venue is home to Sustainable Coastlines - an organisation doing great work in our community. https://sustainablecoastlines.org

Please RSVP on this event page link.

Songwriters 4 Climate Action (SW4CA) is a Project intended to bring together community-based performers through a series of workshops and activities; to help support and inspire them to develop songs, artwork and start conversations that highlight the challenges and hopes for climate action. The collective recorded a compilation album SW4CA Vol.1 in 2022 and recently SW4CA Vol.2 released in February 2024 and perform at local events including festivals, conferences and markets. This project has expanded to promote the collaboration and response of artists to the work of Kaitiaki and other experts active in the Climate Field. Through this process we hope to support dialogue and connection between many communities, create art that moves culture and learn a thing or two along the way. **Interested in getting involved? Come along and have a chat, or get in touch.**
